This nine week course aims to develop a working knowledge of Latin by exploring a range of classical texts in poetry and prose. For those who have been working since September this is a continuation of the story so far. For those who are new, you will need to be reasonably comfortable with recognising nouns and adjectives in the first three declensions, verbs in the six tenses and in the passive, and a range of pronouns. After that, we will be making it up as we go along!
To participate fully in this course you will need a copy of the Cambridge Latin Anthology. We shall also be referring to J-F R Mondon’s Intensive Basic Latin, but if you do not have your own copy of this that will not be essential. A useful reference text is Kennedy’s Revised Latin Primer
