Leading Groups in Prayer

COURSE OUTLINE

Week One – we will explore what prayer is and what it means to teach others to pray,  we will practise leading stillness exercises, and look at how to teach others the examen as a way of prayer

Week Two – looking at presentation skills we will practise leading groups, and explore how to teach others imaginative contemplation as a way of prayer, with an opportunity to present what was learned last week

Week Three – we will explore group dynamics and how to teach Lectio Divina as a way of prayer, as well as presenting what we have learned in small groups

‍

Week Four – looking at the various components that make up a retreat we will practise planning day and evening retreats in different contexts as well as exploring how to teach others to pray with art

Week Five – practising all that we have learned we will plan a series of retreats and explore other ways to pray

‍

Week Six – in our final week we will look at what is needed to lead prayer online, as well as exploring what the next steps might be in using what we have learned
