Online Course Details

Join us to celebrate the canonisation of St. Hildegard of Bingen. Hildegard was a German medieval woman mystic, and is known for her theology, medicine, and perhaps most of all, music. Come enjoy an evening of music and theology, including a talk by seasoned Hildegard performer, Rebecca Tavener, and a performance by Canty with Bill Taylor (medieval harp and synfonie).

Canty is Scotland’s only professional medieval music ensemble. Formed by Rebecca Tavenerto celebrate Hildegard's 900th anniversary in 1998, they explore a unique repertoire combining Medieval music and contemporary works written speciallyf or them, along with ongoing research and experimentation in performance practice for Medieval music from Celtic homelands.
