Rev. Dr Thomas Hughson SJ

Thomas Hughson has been a Jesuit for over 60 years, a priest for over 50 years, and is emeritus from the faculty of theology at Marquette University in Milwaukee. He has supervised many PhD dissertations, and has been an Associate Editor of Theological Studies and on the Editorial Board of Modern Believing. He currently serves as co-editor of the Routledge Contemporary Ecclesiology series. From 1986–89 he served as superior and dean at the Pontifical Biblical Institute-Jerusalem. He has many published articles and books, including The Holy Spirit and the Church: Ecumenical Reflections with a Pastoral Perspective (ed.) Ashgate/Routledge (2016), Connecting Jesus to Social Justice: Classical Christology and Public Theology, Rowman & Littlefield (2013), and his new publication Neanderthal Religion? Theology in Dialogue with Archeology (2024).
